Williams v. Paul

As I die hard Deron Williams fan, I am really getting tired of the constant comparison to fellow point guard Chris Paul. During the 2005 draft D-Will was taken #3 and CP3 was taken #4. Since the Jazz drafted Williams it seems that the constant buzz around the NBA has been, why didn't they take Paul? In my opinion both are fantastic players, but play very different styles in their game. Therefore it is pretty hard to choose a superior player among the 2. Obviously I hold a small bias, but I would still take Deron Williams over Chris Paul anyday. A few days ago the Jazz met the Hornets, for the 8th head-to-head meeting between the guards. The results: Jazz win 110-88.

If questioning the rivalry...Perhaps the best indicator...check out the head-to-head stats between the players...

In 8 Games

Williams 7 wins, Paul 1

Points Per Game: Williams 17.4, Paul 13.8

Field Goal%: Williams 57.3, Paul 37.9

Assists: Williams 6.1, Paul 8.1

And for your viewing pleasure...Deron Williams taking Chris Paul to school...

Well, it's pretty obvious what my conclusion is!
And another small note...the Jazz have won 9 in a row, and 15 of 17, not too shabby!
