American Idol 7

American Idol Season 7 is finally upon us! I know I am a dork, but I really do look forward to American Idol from the time it ends in May up until it starts again in January. This year is even better for me, seeing as no other shows are currently on due to the stupid writers strike. Obviously this season is still in the early stages, but here are my thoughts thus far...

Favorite Guys

#1 David Archuleta "the Mormon kid"

No I don't like him because he is a Mormon. What's not to love about this guy. He's cute, an awesome singer, good personality, plus he's from my home state (bonus points for that!)

#2 Michael Johns "James Whistler" (If you dont' watch Prison Break you will have no clue)

I think he may have a slight advantage over David, based on age, because they both have similar things going for them (looks, voice, personality, etc). As Simon would say they both "have it." I think both are frontrunners at this point.

#3 Jason Castro "Gig'em"

Gotta show some Aggie pride here. I love the purity of his voice, he doesn't over sing. He also has a nice personality.

Favorite Girls
For me there is really no clear "favorite" at this point for me. I like many of the girls...

Brooke White

Kady Malloy

Syesha Mercado

Asia’h Epperson

Carly Smithson

Overall I think the girls are more talented than the guys. That said, I think the guys have the two best, David Archuleta and Michael Johns. They are my early favorites to win!

I actually think this kid can sing, but his femme personality drives me nuts.

David Hernandez





I know that he is one of the better guys singers, but he really bothers me.

Alaina Whitaker





Okay Carrie Underwood wanabee. Been there, done that. This girl can sing, but she is way too much like Carrie Underwood. Only she isn't as cute, and her singing can't even begin to compare.
