Ice

After a scorching day in the sun, there is nothing better than an ice cold drink. We have become especially fond of Sonic lately, what can I say, I love vanilla Diet Dr. Pepper! We have found that one of the best ways to beat the Texas heat, is with a nice cold drink, the problem however...ice. It seems that the latest trend at restaurants seems to be that they fill the cup almost to the brim with ice, and then fill in the cracks with a small amount of soda (McDonalds and Whataburger are especially guilty). So you may order a large drink, and in reality you are getting less than you would in a 12 oz. can. Of course there are times when a lot of ice is a good thing, such as when you are outside at a sporting event, concert, etc. and the drink needs to stay cold. But during every day activity, I have really become annoyed by the excess ice. We have found this problem to be even worse at sit down restaurants. The fill the cup entirely with ice, and then the drink is gone within a couple of minutes. So what do they do...bring you back a refill, with even more ice...arrgg! And they wonder why they have to bring Ray and I 7 refills with each meal! My latest solution to this problem...order drinks with no ice!

I've been using that trick for years! I guess the Europeans do know what they're talking about....
