Okay, so it seems that everywhere I look, listen, or go in the young Mormon (and even non) women community, I seem to hear about these books by Stephanie Meyer, Twilight, New Moon, etc. I first heard about them from the girls at Central Utah Clinic, and then from my aunts, and then from my friend Tami, and since then from almost every person in the blogosphere! I borrowed the first installment, Twilight, from my mom last summer before we moved to Texas. So yes, it has taken me almost an entire year to finally give the book a shot. This follows suit with my previous book reading, such as when I didn't even start reading the Harry Potter series until after the 4th book had been published. So I finally gave into the craze, and finished the book after just a few hours of reading. And my thoughts...OVERRATED. I hate it when this happens, and it has happened to me so many times before, with books, movies, etc. You hear so much hype about them, and then are disappointed when you finally read/watch them. It was a good book, a nice read, and I will probably read the rest of the series as well, and even see the movie. Perhaps my opinion of the book would have been higher, had I not heard so much hype about it beforehand. But I guess I'm not sure what the absolute "obsession" with these books seems to be. Most of the people I have discussed these books with just couldn't put them down, and had to go read the next one right away and such. I don't feel that way at all. I will probably finish the other books I brought with me to Dallas, before I even get the rest of the series. So for all your Twilight lovers out there, please don't throw too many stones my way, since I'm not drooling over these books with the rest of the world. I will continue reading them, and perhaps at some point I will catch the Twilight bug, and become obsessed like everyone else. I am keeping an open mind! But thus far Twilight does not earn a place on my favorite books list, just on popularity alone.

Let the Stones be Thrown!
