Oh Dee...

I am really upset and frustrated today.

During my 20 years as a Utah Jazz fan, I have seen many stupid decisions by management. Don't get me wrong, there have been some wonderful decisions along the way, Stockton, Malone, Williams, Boozer etc. The most recent of the more questionable moves happened this summer when the Jazz decided against re-signing point guard Dee Brown. Dee was a rookie last year, and didn't play all that much, and didn't put up any amazing stats, but when he did play he was a bright spot and a spark to the team. He played especially well during the playoffs last year. During the off-season the Jazz picked up Jason Hart and Ronnie Price, players who have done absolutely nothing during their time in the league and as a result didn't have room on the roster for Dee Brown.

The Jazz opened their season this past Tuesday against Golden State. They Jazz played well for the most part and won quite easily. However whenever backup point guard Jason Hart entered the game, there was a definite momentum shift.

Yesterday the Jazz played the Rockets, and we were excited that we actually got to watch the game on TV. They started out great and were winning by double digits during the first quarter. Then Hart was subbed for Deron Williams, and the come apart began. All momentum was lost, the team looked lost and confused, and the Rockets took the lead and never looked back.

Now I am sorry, but the Jazz are one of the elite teams in the league, but if they have a backup point guard that can't keep the game going, they are not going to have a successful season. As I watched Hart just flat out suck, I just keep thinking, where is Dee? I have been upset about this for several months now, and last night it really came full circle. Why do I have to be so emotionally attached to this team? All day today I have been seething about that terrible showing as well as the fact that Dee Brown is a Jazz man no more :(

I miss you Dee
